Hi All,
Welcome to the blog!
This was not the first entry I saw myself writing. But here we are.
The world seems to have tilted on its axis. In California, where I have family, it's borderline crazy, and in other parts of the world, it's worse. People are panic buying. My future brother-in-law saw toilet paper (toilet paper!) being taken out of someone's shopping cart while someone was shopping.
Extreme times are often the truest tests of who we are. We can either rise to meet the occasion and by the grace of God, excel - - or we can let our fear destroy us.
When I first met my husband and we became engaged, he asked me if I wanted to look for a home of our own - that had never been lived in except for by us as a couple. I said no. No because this was the only home our daughter had ever known, and no because our neighbors were such wonderful people. You can't buy that.
I think we are still those people. Those people who will be there for each other, to help each other through a crisis. We may have to come at it a little differently than in the past, but I believe it can be done.
So, let's start by using the power of the internet for good! Please use this space to let us know of anyone in need. Maybe you want to speak privately. That's okay, too. Text or talk to each other. But let's make sure everyone's okay. Does someone need food left at their door to cook? Meds? Toilet paper? Does someone need someone to call and check in on them, to talk with them, to pray with them?
What does help look like to everyone?
The smaller our world gets, the bigger the fears and concerns will be. Let's get back to being a community (in the safest way possible), and encourage other communities to do the same. Working together, we will not only get through this crisis - we will thrive.

Thanks! Nick and Leon will also be posting as they have things to share. Especially with travel restrictions taking effect in the Bay area, I was thinking about writing up some practical (if old-fashioned) tips for living self-sufficiently through a challenging time. Would anyone be interested?
Awesome!!!
